Wannabe hippies can paint bus

Ever painted a hippie bus? You’ll have your chance on Saturday at the 5th annual Leelanau UnCaged street festival in Northport. The event starts at noon and goes until 10 p.m. with dozens of musical performers, art, food and dance. There will be lots of activities for children, too, such as boat-building, face-painting and puppet making and even a puppet parade. Admission is free.

Enjoy cakes, help Theron

Head to St. Michael Catholic Church in Suttons Bay on Sunday to eat pancakes for a good cause — to raise money for Theron Coleman, a local boy who needs speech therapy not covered by insurance. The event takes place from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Fr. Baker Hall. On the menu are pancakes, sausage links and patties, scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, coffee and juice. The breakfast is sponsored by the Bay Council - Knights of Columbus.

Old-fashioned farm social

Don’t miss a Fall-Time Social Sunday at the Rex Dobson Ruby Ellen Farm in Bingham Township. Festivities start at noon with horse-drawn wagon rides and rope-making, blacksmithing and cider-turning demonstrations. A roasted pig lunch starts at 2 p.m. with a pie auction following about a half-hour later. Cost is $20 for people 12 and older, $5 for students 6-11. Proceeds go toward a new roof on the farmhouse.
