Got some old TVs lying around?

Saturday is the final county household hazardous waste collection of the year. Organized by the Leelanau County Solid Waste Council, the collection will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Elmwood Township Park. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 256-9812.

Winter preparation part of hike

Hikers can learn about how critters and vegetation prepare for the coming winter at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Leelanau Conservancy’s Kehl Lake Natural Area near Northport. They’ll be guided by all of three Conservancy docents: Ann McInnis, Jack Dunn and Jane Gale.

Final hearing on county budget

Learn more about what your county property taxes will buy in 2018 at a public hearing set for 7 p.m. Tuesday.

That’s when the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners will hold its annual statutory meeting and public hearing on the 2018 budget.

As proposed now, expenses and revenue both stand at about $13.2 million.

The meeting will be held at the county government center.
