Big crowd to line up for Sleeping Bear Marathon

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will be hopping Saturday morning as runners compete in the 2017 Sleeping Bear Marathon. According to the Endurance Evolution website, the marathon, half marathon and 5K have all been filled to capacity.

The out-and-back marathon course will take runners past the Dune Climb, Glen Lake and Glen Arbor while offering views of the Manitou Islands and Sleeping Bear Dunes along the way. The half marathon and 5K follow the same course expect the half marathon turns around at the 6.5- mile mark and the 5K turns around at the 1.5-mile mark. All three races start at Lake Michigan Beach Park in Empire.

The marathon, half marathon and 5K will start at 7:30, 8:30 and 8:40 a.m., respectively. Further information about all three races is available at the Endurance Evolution website.
