Jason Lawrence Uithol

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City for Jason Lawrence Uithol of Interlochen who died last Wednesday, Oct. 11.

He was 46.

Jason was born Feb. 22,1971 in Pontiac, the son of Gilbert Uithol III and Jean Chapman. He graduated from Suttons Bay High School in 1989 and was wed to Christina Stefaniak on July 28, 1990.

Jason spent several years working in the tool and die field, but switched careers becoming a plumber and owner of Affordable Plumbing in Traverse City.

He was also a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician for Green Lake Township for many years.

Jason had a great sense of humor and always wanted to be around people. He enjoyed bonfires with family and friends, playing poker, euchre, and relaxing on the couch, watching television while spending time with his pets.

Making family memories was important to Jason. He was an intentional father, making sure that his daughters grew up to become strong, independent, and responsible young women.

Even in his death, his generous spirit lives on as a Gift of Life donor.

Jason is survived by his wife, Christina Uithol; daughters Megan (fiance Shane Rosa) Uithol and Stefanie (fiance Kendrick Meyer) Uithol; father Gilbert (Jennifer) Uithol; mother Jean (Jerry) Chapman; brothers Scott (Caren) Uithol and Gil Uithol; step-siblings Tom (Mary) Chapman, Michelle (Scott) Chapman Anderson, Kevin Chapman, Mary Jo (Peter) Friia, Shelly (Jose) Rivera, Donielle Rikli, Brad (Denise) Sepell, Stephanie (Jim) Kehrer; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by sister, Rebecca Jeanne Uithol; stepmother, Nancy Uithol; and grandmother, Helen Uithol.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Ludington.
