Handyman awaits to speak again with Kathleen; no politics

To the editor:

On the morning of 10-18-17 Leelanau County and the world lost an extraordinary friend and woman. Kathleen Weisen went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Yahshua the Messiah. I am deeply saddened and yet at the same time overjoyed, and only death can bring these two unlikely emotions together.

I was only her handyman but she was more like the mother I never had. It’s a long story but I finally met my birth-mother in 2007. So for the last ten years I have been doubly blessed. When I first met Kathleen she told me that when her family got together for dinners the two subjects that they try to avoid were religion and politics. I said great because those were my two favorite subjects, so lets talk, and talk we did for nearly thirty years. I am not a Catholic nor am I a Protestant (Isaiah 65:15, Acts 11:26). I am also neither a Democrat or a Republican. (Isaiah 33:22, Acts 5:29).

I am simply a Christian American and proud of it. The Energizer bunny had nothing on Kathleen. A few weeks ago she told me that if her health deteriorated any more then she would not want to go on. If she couldn’t go 100 miles an hour like she had for 86 years then she simply wanted to come to a dead stop. Yahweh God answered her prayer and gave her that wish (Psalms 37:4,5).

Kathleen loved her family and they loved her. She more importantly loved her God and He loved her, and she is being rewarded accordingly. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him” (I Corinthians 2:9). When we next talk again in heaven we can both gladly forget all the politics.
