Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. These notices provide residents with an easy path for following the work of their elected officials. Public notices for Leelanau County can also be accessed online at Leelanaunews.com.

Notices that can be found in Section Four of this week’s Leelanau Enterprise include:

 The Village of Northport has approved the distribution of the draft Master Plan and Future Land Use map.

 The Leelanau County Government Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Fri. Nov. 24, in observance of Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving.

 The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing during their Tuesday, Nov. 21 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. The purpose is to hear public comments regarding the Road Commission adopting a uniform permit fee schedule.

 The Bingham Township Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing and consider the following request on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. by Wayne Kiley, Quality Associates, Inc. to amend the Special Land Use Permit and Condominium Approval issued for the Bayview Pines Project.

Village of Northport Notice

The Village of Northport has approved the distribution of the draft Master Plan and Future Land Use map. It will be available for the public to view at the Village of Northport, 116 W. Nagonaba Street, Northport, Michigan for 63 days following this public notice. Comments may be sent to Bill Fuller at fullerarchitect@yahoo.com. A public hearing will be scheduled subsequently after the comment period has expired.

Public Hearing - Leelanau County Road Commission

The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing during their Tuesday, November 21, 2017 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Suttons Bay office conference room located at 10550 E. Eckerle Road, Suttons Bay, Michigan.

The purpose of this public hearing is to hear public comments regarding the Road Commission adopting a uniform permit fee schedule.

Any questions about this hearing should be directed to the Road Commission office. To obtain a draft copy of the proposed uniform permit fee schedule (free of charge), please feel free to contact Managing Director Dan Wagner at dwagner@leelanauroads.org, or by phone at (231) 271-3993 extension 225. Persons with disabilities requiring special needs are asked to notify the Road Commission 24 hours prior to the meeting

Bingham Township Notice Of Public Hearing

The Bingham Township Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing and consider the following request on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bingham Township Hall, 7171 S Center Highway, Traverse City, MI 49684:

Public Hearing on the request by Wayne Kiley, Quality Associates, Inc. to amend the Special Land Use Permit and Condominium Approval issued for the Bayview Pines Project, located at 5675 S. West Bayshore Dr., Suttons Bay, Michigan. This amendment would adjust the approved building envelope and add one unit to the waterfront Spyglass Harbor Condominiums. Spyglass Harbor Condominiums is the third phase of the Bayview Pines Project.

The Application and Site Plan may be reviewed at the Suttons Bay – Bingham Township Office of Planning & Zoning, 95 W. Fourth Street (Hansen’s Plaza), Suttons Bay during regular office hours. Written comments will be received until the time of the hearing in person or by mail to Bingham Township, 7171 S. NOTICE

The Leelanau County Government Center will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday November 24, 2017 in observance of Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving.

As approved by the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners and as approved in the Leelanau County Personnel Policy Manual and the Teamster’s Local #214 union contract, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving are holidays and shall be observed.
