Elmwood man charged with violating bond by assaulting woman

KUCERA KUCERA A 24-year-old Elmwood Township man is back in jail for allegedly assaulting a woman with whom he lives, according to a report from 86th District Court.

Sebastian B. Kucera, of 10482 S. Walnut St., is accused of pummeling the woman with multiple blows to the face and head, causing facial fractures and possible traumatic brain injury, according to a court report.

Kucera was arraigned last week in 86th District Court on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He is being held on a 10 percent, $250,000 bond.

The incident took place on Nov. 8. while Kucera was out on bond on charges of breaking and entering and possession of marijuana.

Those charges stemmed from an incident in October in which Kucera allegedly entered a neighbor’s garage and took marijuana belonging to the neighbor.

Kucera recently served three days in jail on a bond violation in connection with those charges.

Kucera has requested a court-appointed attorney. A probable cause conference has been set for Tuesday; a preliminary examination on the charges has been set for Dec. 5.
