Recalling former Enterprise reporter Matt Roush

To the editor:

It was with utter delight that I read the letter from your former employee, Matt Roush. I grew up in Northport and graduated from Western in 1962. My first teaching job was in Three Rivers, Michigan.

One of my first Kindergarten students was Matt Roush, who walked into my classroom, noticed the phonograph (remember this was early 60s) and said, “Miss Johnson, I didn’t realize that Firestone made hi-fidelity.”

Even then he was a very bright child and I commend the Enterprise for hiring him! And I commend Matt for considering “up north” in his retirement. I try to visit once a year.
