DANIELLE HANSON’S favorite place in the county is Van’s Beach in Leland, where she often goes after work with her dog, Louie, to search for Leland Blues. Name: Danielle Hanson

Town or township of residence: Lake Leelanau

Resident since: I’ve lived in Leelanau County since 1984.

Age and birthplace: 43 and Wayne County

Occupation: Licensed customer service representative at Bonek Agency

Marital status: Divorced

You live in Leelanau County because: My mom moved us here originally, as it was her birthplace. I’m very lucky that she did. We have everything here; it’s beautiful and the community is so involved and engaging.

Last good movie you saw: “Girls Trip,” which I absolutely loved because it reminded me of when I was younger and all the things my friends and I would do together, such as copying or choreographing dance routines from similar music.

Last good book you read: I’m currently reading “A Dog’s Journey,” as I’m obsessed with my dog.

If you could trade places with one person for one day, it would be: Trump, so that I could delete his Twitter account, reverse a lot of the things he’s changed, and save DACA.

Things important to you that you’ve accomplished so far: Raising my children. I am so proud of who they become and the passion they have for life; they’re truly amazing. Secondly, it’s taken some time, but I’m happy with my career choice - I love my job and where I work.

What you hope to be doing in 10 years: There are so many ideas that I have, but the one ones which are most important to me would be helping others and rescuing/fostering Pit Bulls.

Things you lose sleep over: The state of our Nation.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County it would be: I would make it more affordable to live here. We all work so hard during the ‘tourist’ season that we don’t have time to really enjoy it all as much as we should.

Favorite dessert: Cream Cheese Croissants from 9 Bean Bakery

Are you a coffee drinker? Yes. I love it hot or cold but my favorite is a Frozen Pedaling Beans Mocha.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: Vans Beach, I call it my vacation spot. Years ago, a friend introduced me to Leland Blues and ever since, I’ve really enjoyed coming here to search for them. It’s so relaxing.

If you had more time you would: I’d spend more time with my family and enjoy what they have to offer before it’s too late.

The words that best describe you are: Moral, energetic, and a sports fanatic
