Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. Suttons Bay Village Council Notice

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Regular meeting of December 18, 2017.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m., by President Lutke. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Case, Christensen, Egan, Lutke and Suppes

Absent: Hylwa

Council adopted the 2017 year end amended budget, with an expense of $2,907,332.00 and revenue of $2,647,527.00.

Council approved the maximum allowable millage rate not to exceed 9.3052.

Council adopted the 2018 Schedule of Fees and the 2018 Budget as presented, with an expense of $3,502,232.00 and a revenue of $2,684,021.00.

Council approved to enter into a permanent non-exclusive and temporary construction easement between the Port Sutton Marina, LLC, and the Village of Suttons Bay, for the purpose of constructing a new lift station under the terms and conditions as presented in the Easement.

Council approved the 2018 Village Council Regular meeting schedule to be held on the third Monday of every month, at 5:30 p.m.

Council approved the payment of bills as presented by Treasurer DeVol.

The meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m.

Solon Township Board Notice

Meeting Minutes Synopsis For 12/07/2017

Supervisor Lautner opened the regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.

All Board members were present.

Eight guests were present.

The following actions were taken by the Board:

Approved the agenda with one addition under New Business.

Approved the regular meeting minutes from 11/9/2017 as written.

Approved the Treasurer’s report and payment of vouchers.

Approved the Cedar Area Fire and Rescue two year budget for years 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.

Approved to appoint Keith Parker to the Board of Appeals for a three-year term.

Approved to appoint Todd Yeomans to the Board of Appeals as the Planning Commission Representative to complete the term ending 12/31/2018.

Approved to appoint Michelle Wilkes to the Planning Commission for a three-year term.

Approved to appoint Steve Morgan to the Planning Commission to complete the term ending 12/31/2018.

Approved to appoint Edie Glynn to the Planning Commission to complete the term ending 12/31/2019.

Approved to appoint Rich Nachazel for one year as the Sexton.

Approved to appoint Shirley Mikowski for one year as the Township Hall Custodian.

Approved to appoint Ron Novak, Zach Baker and Kathleen Hughes for a one-year term to the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Approved that Solon Township declines the responsibility of the private community septic system of Cedar Cove Estates, a 32-Unit Condominium, located on Co Road 651, Cedar, Michigan 49621, part of parcel # 45-010- 007-001-00, Section 7, Town 28 North, Range 12 West, Solon Township, Leelanau County, Michigan

Bingham Township Notice

Synopsis of Bingham Township Regular Board meeting of December 18, 2017.

Meeting called to order by Supervisor Werner. Board members present: Midge Werner, Brad Saxton, Gary McGhee, Sandy Grant, Kathy Morio. Agenda approved. The regular board minutes of November 20, 2017 were approved. The Board supports a letter for the Invasive Species Network, which is applying for a grant. Approved payroll and vendor balance. Meeting adjourned at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Northport Village Request For Proposal (RFP)

The Village of Northport is seeking proposals from individuals/firms for the cleaning of the waterfront (public) and marina bathrooms/laundry and day room beginning May 1, 2018 through October 15th, 2018. For May, this should be 3 days a week; afterwards, 7 days per week until end of season in October.

The Village expects these areas to be cleaned twice a day. Proposal should include experience, salary expectation and references.

All proposals will be accepted up to and including January 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.

Centerville Township Notice To The Public

Synopsis of Regular Bd. Meeting for December 13, 2017. Board members Schwantes, Wurm, Pleva, & Schaub were present. Hubbell was excused. No Land Use Permits and no Land Divisions were issued in November. Board members accepted Easling Construction bid not to exceed $135K to upgrade the Centerville Township Hall. Board members also re-appointed Margaret “Peggy” Cova to the Planning Commission for a 3-year term to expire December 31, 2020. The next PC meeting will be January 22nd, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Solon Twp Hall. PC meetings will be held the 4th Monday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Wed., January 10, 2018 at the Solon Twp Hall at 7 p.m. A work session of the township board on Roads/Financial Planning is scheduled for January 24th, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Solon Township Hall. The Leelanau County Government Center will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018, in observance of New Year’s Day.

As approved at the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners Board and as approved in the Leelanau County Personnel Policy Manual and the Teamster’s Local #214 union contract, New Year’s Day is considered a holiday and shall be observed.
