Editor’s note: District Court sessions were held last Thursday and Tuesday, which accounts for the lengthy amount of court news this week.

Cory Sherman Root, 35, of 5102 Tilton Rd., Traverse City — Sentenced in Sobriety Court after pleading guilty to second-offense Operating While Intoxicated/Impaired (OWI); to serve five days in jail with credit for time served; must not consume or be in the possession of alcohol, drugs or mood-altering substance including medical marijuana, non-prescribed medications or over-the-counter drugs without prior consent of the court; show no violent, threatening or intimidating behavior toward anyone; must not reside where alcohol, illegal drugs or firearms/weapons are present; must not enter bars, casinos or any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass; not operate a motor vehicle after consuming any alcohol or illegal drugs or without a valid drivers license/insurance/ registration; attend 90 12-step program meetings and obtain sponsorship within 90 days; attend cooperate and complete and Early Recovery Group and follow any recommendation; take and pass PBTs twice daily and random drug tests four times a month; $1,250 fines and costs; 24 months probation.

Michael R, Summers, 29, of 7532 Peaceful Valley Rd., Williamsburg — Sentenced to four days in jail to be served in Grand Traverse County after unsuccessful probation.

Hannah L. Barr, 28, of 9948 Fisher Rd., Empire — Sentenced after pleading guilty to a probation violation; to serve 90 days in jail with credit for 15 days served.

Jeremie L. Lopez, 34, of 222 Gunnison Ave. SW, Grand Rapids — Failed to appear on charge of operating without insurance; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Seth C. Hazenberg, 22, 1546 Franklin St. SE, Grand Rapids — Failed to appear on charge of unlawful use of a license plate; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Ryan D. Miller, 43, of 4059 State Rd. 55 N, Crawfordsville, Ind. — Failed to appear for pre-trial on charge of defrauding an innkeeper; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Andrew J. Shomin, 20, of 1528 Black Bark Lane, Traverse City — Failed to appear for arraignment on attempted obstruction by disguise and third-offense purchase/consumption/ possession of alcohol by a minor; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Hugh A. Willey, 87, of 13081 N. Knollwood Rd., Northport — Sentenced after pleading guilty to failure to report an accident; bond continued; sentence pending.

Cory F. Wandron, 31, of 11218 S. Cottonwood Dr. #5, Traverse City — Pleaded not guilty to charge of operating with a suspended/ revoked or denied license; bond continued.

Angela E. Steinhaus, 42, of 8585 Hill St., Maple City — Pleaded not guilty to second-offense Operating While Impaired; bond continued.

Coenraad F. Stassen, 41, of 4428 Weatherwood Dr., Traverse City — Sentenced after pleading guilty to OWI; to perform 3 days community service in lieu of 6 days in jail; must not consume or be in the possession of alcohol, illegal drugs, non-prescription medical or medical marijuana; may possess alcohol/enter bars for work purposes only; not to enter bars, casinos or any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass; must be respectful of all court employees, service and/ or care providers and not behave in a violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing manner toward anyone; must attended cooperate and complete an Impact Weekend; daily alcohol/ drug screening; $1,170 fines and costs; 1 year probation.

Agripino Reyes Jr., 26, of 4129 N. Jacobson Rd., Suttons Bay — Failed to appear for a show cause hearing; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Tyler Robert Stephen Vance, 25, of 782 Horn St., Pinconning — Failed to appear for a show cause hearing; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Jason N. Davies, 33, of 851 W. Gardenia, Madison Heights — Sentenced after pleading guilty to a probation violation; to serve 10 days in jail with credit since Jan. 1; probation revoked.

Thomas P. Dunkin, 66, of 2500 E. Bodus Rd., Cedar — Pleaded not guilty at arraignment on charges of operating with a blood-alcohol content greater than .17 and attempted resisting and obstructing an officer; bond continued; pretrial set for Jan. 23.

Paul A. Gross, 17, of 1031 Kenesaw Dr. SE, Grand Rapids — Sentenced after pleading guilty to open intoxicants in a motor vehicle; ordered not to consume or possess alcohol or drugs, including medical marijuana; must no operate a motor vehicle without a valid license; must respect court staff/care providers, not act in a violent/intimating/ harassing manner; must live at home and obey all house rules, stay in school with no unexcused absences; must follow all recommendations of probation officer; $377 fines and costs; 90 days probation.

Shawn E. Bash, 38, of 2340 S. 58th St., Fennville — Pleaded guilty to second-offense OWI and failure to report and accident; bond revoked after violation; remanded until sentencing.

James P. Martindale, 29, of 13067 Oakley Rd., Honor — Pleaded not guilty to general DNR violations, possession of a firearm without a license and hunter orange violation; bond continued; pretrial set for Jan. 16.

Caleb L. Hughes, 23, of 3471 S. French Rd., Cedar — Sentenced after pleading guilty to taking protected game; $335 fines and costs; $2,000 restitution; 3-year suspension of hunting licenses; one year probation.

Felix S. Feldman Jr., 64, of 9304 S. Novak Rd., Cedar — Sentenced after pleading guilty to a probation violation; to serve three additional days in jail; probation continued.

Robert C. Buckley, 27, of 9707 Fourth St., Interlochen — Pleaded guilty to operating with a blood alcohol content greater than .17; alcohol/ drug assessment ordered; bond continued; sentencing set for Jan. 30.

Flint D. Speicher, 33, of 5188 Lake Leelanau Dr., Traverse City — Pleaded not guilty at arraignment to possession of marijuana and OWI; bond continued; pretrial hearing set for Jan. 16.

Joni L. Flaska, 54, of 222 Atkins Ave., Shreveport, La. — Arraigned on charge of third-offense Operating While Intoxicated (OWI); bond continued; preliminary hearing set for Jan. 23.

Aaron F. Ross, 32, of 3824 S. Grants Landing, Lake Leelanau — Pleaded not guilty to use of a controlled substance and OWI; bond continued; pretrial hearing set for Jan. 16.

Roland M. Schultz, 32, of 586 S. Lake Leelanau Dr., Lake Leelanau — Pleaded not guilty to second-offense OWI; bond continued; pretrial set for Feb. 6.

Angelica Barrientoz John, 21, of 102 W. Meinrad St., Apt. B, Lake Leelanau — Arraigned on charge of operating with a suspended/revoked/ denied license; bond continued; probable causing hearing set for Jan. 23.

Miguel Gomez Calderon, 44, of 1901 S. West Bay Shore Dr., Suttons Bay — Failed to appear for show cause hearing; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Kaylee E. Talt, 21, of 10295 48th St., Apt. G 103, Allendale — Failed to appear for show cause hearing; $1,000 bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Dalton J. Terpening, 24, of 812 Barlow St., Traverse City — Pleaded guilty to operating with a blood alcohol content greater than .17; alcohol/ drug assessment ordered; bond continued; sentencing set for Jan. 30.

Gary W. Taelman, 67, of 4613 Westridge Dr., Williamsburg — Sentenced after pleading guilty to OWI; to perform 3 days community service for 6 days in jail; $1,150 fines and costs; ordered not to consume or be in possession of alcohol, illegal drugs or non-prescription medication; must provide a list of prescriptions to the court; must not enter bars, casinos or any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass; must attend two 12-step program meetings per week with written verification and obtain a sponsor within 60 days; must attend counseling and submit to a mental health evaluation; 1 year probation.

Scarlett E. Zamora, 38, of 3916 Pleasant Ridge Dr., Williamsburg — Sentenced after pleading guilty to embezzlement by an agent/trustee of less than $200; to perform 10 days community service in lieu of 20 days in jail; $675 fines and costs; ordered not to consume or be in possession of alcohol, illegal drugs or non-prescription medication; must provide a list of prescriptions to the court; must not enter bars, casinos or any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass; no gambling online; no violent, threatening, intimating or harassing behavior toward anyone and be respectful of all court employees; must attend theft therapy and gambling treatment; submit to random alcohol or drug screening; have no contact directly or indirectly with Tom’s Food Markets; restitution hearing set for Jan. 30; one year probation.

Thomas W. Gallery, 71, of 6360 N. Christianson Rd., Northport — Sentenced after pleading guilty to OWI; to perform 3 days community service in lieu of 6 days in jail; $1,150 fines and costs; ordered not to consume or be in possession of alcohol, illegal drugs or non-prescription medication; must provide a list of prescriptions to the court; must not enter bars, casinos or any establishment that serves alcohol by the glass; must provide a list of prescriptions to the court; must not behave in a violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing manner toward anyone and be respectful of all court employees; must attend and complete recovery counseling; take and pass daily PBTs and twice monthly drug testing; one year probation.

Jeremie L. Lopez, 34, of 2343 N. West Bay Shore Dr. Suttons Bay — Sentenced after pleading guilty to operating without insurance; $1,350 fines and costs.

Howard L. McCann, 48, of 393 E. Silver Lake Rd. S, Traverse City — Pleaded guilty to operating with a suspended/revoked/ denied license; bond continued; sentence pending.
