Holland faces 2 felonies for credit card fraud

HOLLAND HOLLAND A 26-year-old Leelanau Township woman faces two felony charges after allegedly racking up nearly $9,000 of unauthorized purchases on her parents’ credit cards.

Mariah Crowgey Holland, 10460 E. Garthe Rd., was arraigned Tuesday in 86th District Court on one count of larceny greater than $1,000 but less than $20,000 and using a financial transaction device without consent.

According to a felony complaint, Holland took her parents’ credit cards without permission in October and made $8,903 in fraudulent purchases.

Holland is free on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 23.

Larceny greater than $1,000 but less than $20,000 is a felony punishable by 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine or three times the value of property stolen, whichever is greater.

Using and/or stealing a financial transaction device without consent is punishable by four years in prison and/ or a $5,000 fine.
