Leelanau Twp. woman pleads not guilty in credit card theft


HOLLAND HOLLAND A 26-year-old Leelanau Township woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday during her Circuit Court arraignment on larceny charges.

Mariah Crowgey Holland waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to Circuit Court on one count of larceny greater than $1,000 but less than $20,000 and using a financial transaction device without consent.

According to the felony complaint, Holland took her parents’ credit cards without permission in October and made $8,904 in fraudulent purchases.

She remains free on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond with the same conditions, including submitting to four urine screenings per month.

Larceny greater than $1,000 but less than $20,000 is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 or three times the value of property stolen, whichever is greater.

Using and/or stealing a financial transaction device with consent it punishable by four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
