Traffic stop yields drug charges for L-L man

BARAJAS BARAJAS A 21-year-old Lake Leelanau man was arraigned Tuesday on drug charges resulting from a traffic stop made on Saturday.

Eric D. Barajas of 208 Louisa St. was formally charged with delivery/ manufacturing marijuana and possession of a control substance.

According to the felony complaint, Barajas was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. A search of his vehicle turned up multiple bags on marijuana totaling more than seven ounces and a number of unsubscribed Xanax pills.

The delivery/manufacture charge is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison and/or $20,000 fine.

Possession of a controlled substance is a two-year felony with a possible fine of $2,000.

Barajas’ next court appearance is set for Tuesday.
