Coming to Suttons Bay: chili, skating and potluck

A nonprofit named Leelanau Investing For Teens (LIFT) will host a chili cook-off and skating party Sunday in Suttons Bay.

LIFT runs an after-school program at the Friendship Community Center in Suttons Bay.

Family skating will take place at the township skating the rink on Broadway St. starting at 1 p.m. Broomball will follow from 2-3 p.m. and curling will be from 3-4 p.m.

Skating is free. Chili will be dished out at $1 per serving.

At least eight different chilis will be offered. Those who would like to enter a chili should call 616-405- 0006.

The event will be held at the community center located at 201 Broadway St. in Suttons Bay.

Proceeds benefit both organizations.

The Friendship Center will also be busy Tuesday when community potluck dinners resume.

The potlucks are held on the second Tuesdays of each month with the exceptions of December and January.

The theme will be Mardi Gras. A main entree is furnished along with coffee and tea.

Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass, their own table service and a beverage of choice.

Live music will be provided by the North Bay Celtic Band.
