Lions club to serve pancakes

The Cedar/Maple City Lions Club will host pancake breakfasts on the Sundays of Feb. 11, March 11 and April 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Meals will be served at the Lions Community Building in Maple City.

Pancakes, sausage and of course scrambled eggs are offered, but the Lions menu also includes made-to-order omelets.

Proceeds help fund mostly local needs such as scholarships and vision assistance.

‘Art process’ to be explored

The Glen Arbor Arts Center (GAAC) plans to explore the artmaking process with two exhibitors Sunday at 2 p.m. The artists, Bethy Bynum and Mary O’Neill, will talk with gallery manager Sarah Bearup-Neal

Participate in budget discussions

Townships across the county are busy writing budgets for their next fiscal year. Many have scheduled public work shops, hoping for input from residents.

For instance, Leland Township set workshops for 1 p.m. on Friday and Tuesday. The Township Board’s monthly meeting will begin Monday at 7 p.m.

The fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31 for the townships of Leelanau, Leland, Centerville, Cleveland, Empire, Kasson, Glen Arbor and Solon. The exceptions are Elmwood and Bingham townships.
