Homeowner hopes to expand

The owner of a home in Northport Village is seeking permission to build a second story addition to a home on a nonconforming lot.

Timothy Hogan of Louisville, Colo., wants to add space to his single story home at 110 West Park St. But the lot is only about 10,000 square feet in a residential zoning district that requires 15,000 square feet, according to zoning administrator

Bill Fuller.

The footprint of the home would not change, Fuller added.

The village Planning Commission has set a hearing for 7 p.m. Tuesday to hear input from the public before recommending whether a special use permit should be issued. The Village Council, whose next monthly meeting is set for Thursday, March 1, has the final say on the issue.
