Thompsons return from ‘gulfing’ vacation

Phone 334-4486

We are heading back North y’all and as much as I enjoy the time we spend on the Gulf it’s always good to get home.

I’m sure there’s not much going on this time a year but the springtime sounds of hammers, leaf blowers cleaning yards and roads and the general spring cleaning. Everyone getting ready for the fudgie season.

Our area is getting busier and busier in the summer. But I think we can all put up with tourists and share “The Most Beautiful Place in America” and the National Park’s Sleeping Bear Point having been named “one of the 21 top beaches on earth” with everybody that wants to see how lucky we are. We’ll have to deal with crowds for approximately 10 weeks and then we have paradise to ourselves.

Happy birthday wishes to Matthew Wieber, Linda Peppler, Dorn Yeager, Pam Depuy, Doc Jamison, Leigh Payment, Dianna Sheridan, the Smith Captains Bob and Wes, Fred Schubert, Tom Rose, Andrew Jackson and John Tyler.

Keep the gates to Leeanau County open, we are on our way

Editor’s note: Bill submitted this column two weeks ago, and so could not have included a taste for the pride felt by the Glen Lake community for the showings of its basketball teams in state tournaments. I’ll bet he leads with that theme next week.
