Meeting minutes synopsis for 3/8/2018.

Supervisor Lautner opened the regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

All Board members were present.

Fourteen guests were present.

The following actions were taken by the Board:

Approved the agenda with an addition.

Approved the regular meeting minutes from 02/08/2018 as written.

Approved the Treasurer’s report and payment of vouchers.

Approved to pay Ron Novak for reviewing 265 surveys at $1.00 per survey for a total cost of $265.00.

Leland Township Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Susan Och, with Clerk Jane Keen, Treasurer Shirley Garthe, and 10 guests present. The agenda was approved. Minutes of previous meetings were approved. The Treasurer’s Report was approved. The following board actions were taken:

 Approved 10th Annual Friends of Fishtown 5K.

 Approved agreement for Marine Fire and Emergency Medical Services with Glen Arbor and Empire Townships.

 Approved Resolution R-18-11 MDOT Improvements in Leland.

 Approved Resolution R-18-12 MDOT Improvements in Lake Leelanau.

 Approved purchase of crosswalk markers for Leland and Lake Leelanau.

 Motion to hire Barbara Wood as Sexton was approved.

 Approved treatment of trees in Grove Park and Beechwood Cemetery.

 Approved Resolution R-18-13 Property Tax Poverty Exemption.

Suttons Bay Village Council

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Regular meeting of March 19, 2018.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m., by President Lutke. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Christensen, Egan, Hylwa, Lutke and Suppes

Absent: Case

Council approved payment of bills as presented by Treasurer DeVol. Council approved the purchase of the Gravely Power Brush 28 for a cost of $1,500.00 and authorized a budget amendment of $1,500.00 in Property Replacement Fund. Council adopted Resolution 2-2018, to amend the Standard Lighting Contract between the Village of Suttons Bay and Consumers Energy Company, reducing the number of streetlights.

Bingham Township Notice

Synopsis of Bingham Township Regular Board Meeting of March 19, 2018.

Meeting called to order by Supervisor Werner.

Board Members Present: Brad Saxton, Midge Werner, Sandra Grant and Kathy Morio

Absent: Gary McGhee

Agenda Approved.

The Regular Board meeting minutes of February 19, 2018 were approved.

Approved an agreement with American Waste for spring clean-up day on May 19, 2018.

Voted to continue with their “opt out” decision to not allow medical marijuana facilities in the township.

Voted to allow Midge Werner to work with Network Northwest, regarding the Parks and Rec. master plan, if cost is $1,000.00 or less.

Approved payroll and vendor balance.

Meeting adjourned at 7:58 pm.

Empire Township Board Minutes

The following is a synopsis of the March 13, 2018 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk at 231-326-5349.

Supervisor Noonan called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Neiswonger, Price, and Deegan. Late: Deering. Minutes of the 02-13-18 and 02-21-18 regular and special meetings were approved.

Actions approved by motions: 1) Adopted Resolution 02-2018, which waives penalty and interest fees for individuals who fail to file a property transfer affidavit. 2) Hired Collin Grosh as assistant maintenance worker at the Empire Township Campground. 3) Agreed to apply for an Interim Sign Permit for the Empire Township Campground sign that Empire Village required the township to remove on M-22 (LaCore Street) in 1989. 4) Entered into the lease that leases the pickle ball court/shuffle board court improvements from Empire Township to the Lions Club. 5) Raised the Empire Township Campground group sites to $45.00/night. 6) Paid monthly bills.

Notice is hereby given that at its regular meeting of March 13, 2018, the Kasson Township Board of Trustees adopted Ordinance #2018-01, commonly referred to as the Kasson Township Zoning Ordinance Amendment. The Ordinance becomes effective 30-days upon publication of this notice. A true copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection by appointment at the Township Hall.
