You can help control oak wilt

Leelanau Conservation District forester Kama Ross will discuss concerns about oak wilt disease and its impact on our native woodland ecosystem. The presentation will take place next Wednesday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at the Kasson Township Hall at 10988 S. Newmann Rd., Maple City.

“Orders up” at Lions pancake breakfast

The Cedar and Maple City Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lions Community Building in Maple City. The menu includes pancakes, omelets, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, dessert, fruit and beverage. All proceeds will benefit Lions Club projects.

Northport Village looks at opening

The Northport Village Council at its monthly meeting tonight is scheduled to discuss a procedure to fill its latest vacant seat. Trustee Tim Kehl resigned just prior to the council’s March 1 meeting, representing the fourth resignation from the seven-person council in one year.

Among five action items on the agenda is “advertise for vacancy on Village Council.” The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
