Town or township of residence: Lake Leelanau

Resident since: I’ve lived in Leelanau County for just over 20 years but moved to my current home in Lake Leelanau in 2016.

Age and birthplace: 47 and Wyandotte, MI

Occupation: Administrative Assistant at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa

Marital status: Single

You live in Leelanau County because: I don’t have any family ties to the area, but I wanted to send my kids to Leland Public Schools.

Last good movie you saw: I really enjoyed the premiere I saw of “A Cure for Wellness,” which was a psychological thriller about a mad scientist looking for a cure.

Last good book you read: “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson. It explained how to find happiness in your life and through your work.

If you could trade places with one person for one day, it would be: I would trade places with anyone on staff with the Steelers; I’d just want to be a part of the team in some capacity.

Things important to you that you’ve accomplished so far: Restarting my career after putting pause on it for 20 years. Coming back to it was difficult but I’m so happy to be doing what I love.

What you hope to be doing in 10 years: I love my job and hope to still be doing it in 10 years but I also would like to be able to travel more often.

Things you lose sleep over: Money, my to-do list, and occasionally my kids.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County it would be: The cost of living. The tourists jack it up so high that the competition for regular people to live here is astronomical.

Favorite dessert: My homemade lemon meringue pie

Are you a coffee drinker? Nope.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: Houdek Dunes Natural Area in Leland

If you had more time you would: I would plan a trip to Scotland and trace the history of my ancestors.

The words that best describe you are: Enthusiastic, crafty, adventurous.
