THREE STORM THOUGHTS

The long winter is taking toll. How Leelanauts are responding.

From 911 call log, 10:08 p.m. Saturday: Gentleman screaming and yelling. Tribal officers responded. Responding officer’s comment: “Male was just very angry while shoveling snow.”

From Facebook posts: “Snowed in at Suttons Bay. Send chocolate and wine.”

“Captain’s log. it’s day two of the storm and the crew is getting restless. Snack are running low and the snow is piled high. There has been no contact with the locals for quite some time now. I’m starting to fear for the sanity of the crew if this should continue much longer…”

Leland girls’ soccer coach Joe Burda: “We have 28 girls in the gym and it seems smaller every practice.”
