Leelanau’s Earth Day lineup

This Sunday Funday might just be an all-day celebration. It’s Earth Day. And Leelanau County is jumping in with at least three free events:

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Northport Energy Solar Tour

Self-guided tour of residential and commercial locations in and around the village of Suttons Bay. Solar arrangements include residential and commercial roof-top arrays, residential and commercial ground-mount arrays, and an off-grid water pumping station. Sites may be toured in any order. A Northport Energy representative will be at each site to answer questions. Fact sheets and other take-away materials will be available.

3 to 5 p.m.

Movie and Panel Discussion at The Bay

The Breakthrough in Renewable Energy is a documentary film that explores groundbreaking work being done across the globe. Following the movie, a panel of experts will be available to answer questions about the movie, the viability of solar energy or any of the tour installations.

3 to 6 p.m.

Earth Day Celebration

Join the Leelanau Conservancy at Tandem Ciders for its final “Earth Week” event. Live music from Appleseed Collective and local hard cider. Family-friendly event.
