Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities.  Centerville Township board regular meeting synopsis for April 11.

 Cleveland Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing and special meeting on May 15 at 7:00 p.m. The subject of the public hearing is a request for a dimensional variance.

 Elmwood Township public hearing is scheduled for May 14 at 6 p.m. to consider a zoning ordinance amendment to the Elmwood Township Zoning Ordinance to allow Special Event Facilities in certain zoning districts with a special use permit.

 The Northport Village planning commission will hold a public hearing, May 29 at 7 p.m. to discuss changing some Village parcels from A (R-2) Village District to a (D-1) Development District.

 The Solon Township Board has scheduled a public hearing for May 17 at 7:30 p.m. to receive public comment on a request for a 32 unit Site Condominium.

 Elmwood Township planning commission will hold a public hearing on May 15, at 7 p.m. before the Elmwood Township Planning Commission to consider a request by Grandview Partners LLC for Cedar Creek Cottages, a 14-unit single family dwelling Planned Development.

Centerville Township Notice To The Public

Synopsis of Regular Bd. Meeting for April 11, 2018 held at the Centerville Township Hall. Board members Schwantes, Wurm, Pleva, Hubbell, & Schaub were present. 3 Land Use Permits and no Land Divisions were issued in March. Board members approved the biking portion of the Kristie Yaakoby Memorial Triathlon on June 16, 2018. Brian Booth’s contract for lawn care was renewed for the 2018 season at $2,250. Board members approved the reappointment of John Depuy (member at-large) to a 2-year term on the Cedar Area Fire & Rescue board. A resolution for 1.25 mills for the support of the Cedar Area Fire & Rescue Department will be placed on the August 8, 2018 ballot, which will raise an estimated $129,900 in revenues if approved by voters. The PC meeting will be held April 23rd, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Centerville Twp Hall. Notice to the Public

Public Hearing and Special Meeting

Tuesday, May 15, 2018- 7:00 p.m.

The subject of the public hearing is a request for a dimensional variance as follows:

1. Tax ID 45-003-026-041-00; Owner, John Forrest has submitted a request for a variance to this residential parcel from Zoning Ordinance Article V, Section 5.08 Setback Restrictions, specifically, the “No building or structure shall be built……….and no closer than 75ft from the waters edge”. The applicant seeks a 15ft variance from the 75 ft setback requirement for an addition to be added on the south side of current structure. The property is located at 6220 S. Lime Lake Rd.

Public Hearing

The Solon Township Board has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the Solon Township Hall meeting room, 9191 S. Kasson St., Cedar, MI to receive public comment on a request for a 32 Unit Site Condominium by S. C. Flaska Properties, LLC. The proposed Site Condominium includes 11 detached single family dwellings and 21 attached dwelling units. The parcel is located on E. Bellinger Road and S. Kasson Street, Section 7, T28N R12W. The property tax ID # is 010-007-001-00. The Township Board respectfully requests your questions, input, opinions or concerns relating to this request.

Suttons Bay Village Notice

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Regular meeting of April 16, 2018.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:31 p.m., by President Lutke. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Case, Christensen, Egan, Hylwa, Lutke and Suppes

Council approved payment of bills as presented by Treasurer DeVol.

Council adopted Resolution 2 of 2018, a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Interlocal Participation Agreement for Investment Purposes, with an affirmative unanimous roll call vote.

Council adopted Resolution 3 of 2018, a Resolution to Purchase, Acquire and Construct Capital Improvements and to Publish Notice of Intent to Issue Municipal Securities, with an affirmative unanimous roll call vote.

Council accepted the April 9, 2018, proposal from American Waste to perform the curbside clean-up service.

The meeting adjourned at 5:44 p.m.

Elmwood Township Board Notice Of Public Hearing

A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. before the Elmwood Charter Township Board to consider PC ZO 2017-04-02, a zoning ordinance amendment to amend the Elmwood Township Zoning Ordinance to allow Special Event Facilities in certain zoning districts with a special use permit.

The complete amendment may be viewed at the Township Hall during the regular office hours; Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or on the Township website at http://leelanau. cc/elmwoodtwp.asp.

The public hearing will be held at the Elmwood Township Hall, 10090 E. Lincoln Road, Traverse City. Individuals can make public comment or submit written comments, in person, at the public hearing. Empire Township Board Minutes

The following is a synopsis of the April 10, 2018 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk at 231-326-5349.

Supervisor Noonan called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Price, and Deegan. Board began the meeting with an informative presentation and discussion with Fire Chief John Dodson on the future fire station placement. Minutes of the 03-13-18 regular meeting and the 03-31-18 annual, budget, and two special meetings were approved.

Action approved by motion: 1) Paid monthly bills.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
