Fundraiser planned for Bingham horse owner

Friends of a woman who spends a lot of time in Bingham Township are coming to her aid.

Julia Ross, 25, keeps her horse “Remo” at Black Star Farms.

A behavioral health technician at Munson Medical Center, Ross cared for her mother who died of ovarian cancer in January.

A week after her mother’s passing, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Ross has started nine month of treatments and will continue to work as much as possible.

Friends have organized a fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Suttons Bay Ciders, 10530 E. Hilltop Rd.

Planned are cider tasting and a silent auction featuring gift baskets from area businesses.

A donation of $25 per person is suggested.
