Glen Arbor cleaning up

Electronics, furniture, paint cans. Glen Arbor Township residents can get rid of those hard-to-dispose-of items on Saturday. Residents should have all refuse placed at their normal curb-side trash pick-up location by 7 a.m. Saturday. Cost for the program will be paid from the township’s general fund. See coverage in Section 2.

Open Meetings no longer a mystery

The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners will host an informational education session tomorrow on the Open Meetings Act. The 10 a.m. session will be held at the Government Center in Suttons Bay by the county’s legal counsel Peter Cohl. Attendance is free. Immigration discussion includes advocates

The League of Women Voters Leelanau County will begin what’s dubbed as a “community conversation” about immigration on Tuesday. “Immigration 101: How it Works and How it Doesn’t” will begin at 7 p.m. at the Government Center lower level community room. A panel of experts will include an immigration law attorney, agricultural employer and community advocates.
