Parkinson’s forum set in Traverse

The 33rd Parkinson’s annual summer forum is set for next Thursday, June 7, in Traverse City.

The forum, organized by Parkinson’s Network North (PNN), will feature nationally-recognized speakers in the area of Parkinson’s disease.

A presentation will be given by Peter LeWitt, M.D., Henry Ford Movement Disorder Clinic. His topic will be, “New Developments in Parkinson’s Disease.”

There will also be an interactive discussion with a panel of experts including Glen Ackerman, M.D.; Andrew Cole, M.D.,; Laura Meldrum, R.N.; and Barb Ostrowski, PharmD.

April Missias, director of Leelanau County Senior Services, will serve as moderator.

The event is scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City.

PNN hosts a Parkinson’s support group at 3 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the community room at Northport Highlands.
