Suttons Bay Township Notice

SUTTONS BAY TOWNSHIP – Synopsis of May 9, 2018 Board Meeting Minutes

The Suttons Bay Township Board held its regular meeting on April 11, 2018.

Present: Supervisor Bahle, Clerk VanHuystee, Treasurer Hartsveldt, Trustee Nixon, Trustee Slocombe

Absent: None

Reports received - Treasurer, Planning and Zoning, and Parks and Recreation. Previous meeting minutes were approved and authorization was received to pay the bills.

Accepted 2018 Annual Planning Commission Report. Approved Suttons Bay Garden Club’s Memorial Garden at Herman Park. Signed Agreement for Nanagosa Trail road improvement. Monitors for the Trash Pick Up Day on May 19th will be Debbie Slocombe and Tom Nixon. Work being done on ice rink issues. Approved purchase of desk signs for Township Board. Herman Park – approved purchase of picnic tables, approved revised event permit forms, discussion regarding the tennis courts. Addressed Ordinance regulating activities within Township parks. Approved Township paying its share for maintenance of Hansen’s Plaza Condo Assn. parking lot and common areas.

Seeking Construction Bid Proposals

For

PARTIAL REMODELING of AN EXISTING BUILDING

The Leelanau Montessori Public School Academy (LMPSA) is seeking construction bid proposals for remodeling of a structure located at:

2401 Duck Lake Road, Lake Leelanau, Michigan 49653

(Building currently known as the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department Building)

The form of construction will be of construction management type. Consideration will be given to contractors bidding two or more categories.

The following Categories will be out for bid:

Division 02 – Selective Demolition
Division 03 – Concrete
Division 04 – Masonry
Division 05 – Metals
Division 06 – Wood and Plastics
Division 07 – Thermal and Moisture
Protection
Division 08 - Doors, Windows and
Skylights
Division 09 – Finishes

The building will be available for viewing on June 4 and 5, 2018 between the hours of 9am and 4 pm. Owner’s representatives will be on site to answer questions. Plans and specification will be available for review and purchase. Purchase price of $25.00 per set will be refundable upon return of usable copies.

Bids will be due on June 15, 2018 by 4 pm ESDT. No bids will be accepted after the due date and time.

The owners (LMPSA) reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

Centerville Township Notice To The Public

Synopsis of Regular Bd. Meeting for May 9, 2018 held at the Centerville Township Hall. Board members Schwantes, Wurm, Pleva, Hubbell, & Schaub were present. 1 Boundary Line Adjustment & 4 Land Use Permits were issued in April. Assessor Julie Krombeen received a increase in her salary to $14,400. Compensation for Planning Commission & Board of Appeals members was increased to $55 per meeting and $65 per meeting for the chairperson. Election workers will be increased to $13.50 per hour with the chairperson at $14 per hour. Board members also reconfirmed its November 8, 2017 intention to use a single unisex bathroom as part of the township remodel project. Leelanau County Construction Code office will be designated to enforce flood hazard areas and manage the floodplain within the township. Board members reinstated the Poverty Exemption using Federal guidelines for granting exemptions to reduce property taxes for those in financial need. The PC meeting will be held May 28th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Centerville Twp Hall to include a public hearing on Chateau Fontaine event venue application. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Wed., June 13, 2018 at the Centerville Twp Hall at 7 p.m. The July meeting has been changed to Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at 7 p.m. Draft minutes are available on the Twp. web site at www.leelanau.cc or by request at 228- 7663. Leland Township Board Meeting

May 14, 2018—7:00 p.m.

Leland Township Library Munnecke Room, 203 E. Cedar St., Leland, MI

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Susan Och, with Clerk Lisa Brookfield, Treasurer Shirley Garthe, Trustee Tony Borden, Trustee Michael Collins and 9 guests present. The agenda was approved. Minutes were approved for April 9 and May 1, 2018 Meetings. The Treasurer’s Report was approved. The following board actions were taken:

• Approved Leland Township Planning Commission’s rejection of Aurora Cellars proposed language change to 18.25 Leland Township Zoning Ordinance

• Approved safety improvements to Drow Field with Leland Township contribution of $1525

• Approved Change Order for the Leland Sewer River Crossing Project

• Approved placement of the Lake Leelanau Community Association shed on Township property located on Popp Road

• Authorized Leland Township Clerk to close Main Street in Leland for the Fourth of July Parade

• Approved authorization for Supervisor Och to sign contract for fireworks display on July 3, 2018

• Approved motion to hold the Fourth of July parade in Leland

• Approved appointment of Cotopaxi Sprattmoran to the Parks and Recreation Commission

• Approved bills and accounts

Northport Public School District Notice Of Public Hearing

On Proposed 2018-2019 Budget

Please Take Notice that on June 11, 2018 at 6:00 o’clock p.m. at Northport, Michigan, the Board of Education of Northport Public School will hold a public hearing to consider the district’s proposed 2018-2019 budget.

The Board may not adopt its proposed 2018-2019 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2018-2019 budget including the proposed property tax millage rate is available for public inspection during normal business hours at Northport Public School, Northport, Michigan.

The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

This notice is given by order of the Board of Education.

Please take notice that the Suttons Bay Township Board at their special meeting on May 23, 2018 at 8:30 AM held at the Suttons Bay Township Office, 95 W Fourth Street, Suttons Bay, Michigan, adopted Ordinance No. 1 of 2018, which amends Ordinance #3 of 2014

The following is a synopsis:

Changed Section 15: Herman Park Pavilion, general use rules and any fees or charges can be found on the Pavilion Reservation Request Form: Section 16: Penalties, Section 17: Previous park Ordinance Rescinded, Section 18: Severability, and Section 19: effective Date.

This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the township.

Bingham Township Notice To The Public

Synopsis of Bingham Township Regular Board Meeting of May 21, 2018

Meeting called to order by Supervisor Werner at 7 pm.

Board members present: Midge Werner, Gary McGhee, Sandy Grant, Brad Saxton, Kathy Morio

Amended agenda approved.

The Special Board meeting minutes of May 7, 2018 were approved.

The Regular Board meeting minutes of April 16, 2018 were approved.

Accepted bid for porta-potty rentals.

Re-affirmed Boards decision on SpyGlass Harbor condo private sewer system.

Approved changes to the Policy- Procedure manual.

Approved requests from the Parks & Rec. committee for park purchases.

Accepted Assessors April quarterly report.

Approved payroll and vendor balance.

Accepted insurance bid for township insurance.

Meeting adjourned at approximately 9:40 pm
