Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities.  Board of Education of Suttons Bay Public Schools on June 25 at 7:00 pm will hold a meeting on the Proposed 2017-2018 Budget.

 The Suttons Bay Township Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing on July 10 at 6:00 p.m. to consider a Request by Frank & Micheline Padella for a Special Land Use Permit to develop a mixed residential development on Richter Road.

Cleveland Township Board Proceedings

The following is a synopsis of the June 12, 2018, meeting of the Cleveland Township board. The complete minutes are available from the Township Clerk. Clerk Nowak called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Four members were present as well as four guests. Tim Stein was absent.

Agenda was approved as presented.

Approved minutes of the May 9, 2018 meeting.

Received Treasurer’s report and approved payment of bills.

Received Clerk, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Zoning Administrator’s reports.

Received Cedar Area Fire and Rescue Board report.

The board approved a fireworks display permit for June 30, 2018 from dusk to midnight on Little Traverse Lake.

Public comment was held. The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m.

Leelanau Township Board Meeting

Supervisor Scripps called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Board members present: Doug Scripps, Denise Dunn, Deb Van Pelt, Gary Fredrickson, and Galen Leighton. Eleven citizens and four staff members were present.

Agenda set as amended.

Public Comment was heard from Mike Stoffel on brush pile at north end of cemetery, Betsy Mallek on discussion for public hearing for sewer and an increase charge that started October instead of January.

Approved minutes of May 8, 2018 Regular Board Meeting as corrected.

Approved the current bills in the amount of $111,425.94 as presented.

Reports were heard from John Petoskey, GTB Action; Sawyer Scott, Marina to Braman Hill Bolt; Sam Wigton, Leelanau County Sheriff Department; Ty Wessell, Leelanau County Commissioners; Nellie Danke, Leelanau Township Library; Hugh Cook, Leelanau County Emergency Services; Ben Purdy, Facility Manager and Galen Leighton, Planning Commission.

Approved an amendment to the Parks and Recreation Committee Resolution #1 of 2017, number 4. Officers, a. election as presented.

Approved the re-appointments of Brian Mitchell, Karen Mulvahill and Phyllis Rebori to the Planning Commission for a two year term, July 1, 2018 through March 31, 2021.

Approved the Metro Act Right of Way Permit Extension Agreement as presented.

Discussed from process to possibility of purchase of a new ambulance, maternity leave for Emergency Medical Services, status on follow-up of Emergency Services Policy and Procedures Manual.

Public Comment was heard from Bob Cooney, running for 86th District Court Judge; Campbell McLeod, bike path, and signage; Evan Ward, representing Representative Kurt VanderWall running for Senate.

Correspondence and Announcements, Scripps announced his absence and talked of a public hearing will be scheduled for Ordinance 5 on July 17, 2018, Tuesday at the Leelanau Township Fire Hall at 7:00 p.m. with the 94 Special Assessment District (SAD) for the sewer. The Early Childhood Development Program will be held at Omena Fire Hall mid-August from 9 to noon and the status of the fire hall grounds and north door repairs.

Take notice that Knox Investments LLC, a Michigan Limited Liability Company, whose address is 770 N US 31 South, Travese City, MI 49685 (“Company”), has been dissolved pursuant to Section 450.4801 of MCL, as amended. This notice is being publised pursuant to Section 450.4807 of MCL, as amended. Suttons Bay Public School Notice

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2017-2018 BUDGET

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on June 25, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Suttons Bay Public Schools, 310 Elm Street, 2nd Floor Open Area in Elementary Building in Suttons Bay, Michigan, the Board of Education of Suttons Bay Public Schools, Leelanau County, Michigan will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 2018-2019 budget.

The Board may not adopt its proposed 2018-2019 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2018-2019 budget, including the proposed property tax millage rate, is available for public inspection during normal business hours at Suttons Bay Public Schools Superintendent’s Office, 500 Elm Street, in the High School in Suttons Bay Michigan.

The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

This notice is given by order of the Board of Education.

Suttons Bay Township Notice Of Public Hearing

The Suttons Bay Township Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing and consider the following request on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Suttons Bay Township Offices, 95 W. Fourth Street (Hansen’s Plaza), Suttons Bay, MI 49682:

Request by Frank & Micheline Padella for a Special Land Use Permit to develop a mixed residential development on Richter Road in Suttons Bay Township of up to 28 multi-family units and up to 20 single family site condominium units with the potential for duplex units. The property is currently vacant and is located between 1037 and 1475 S. Richter Road, Suttons Bay, MI 49682. Property Number 45-011- 033-025-00.

Burdickville Road, Maple City, Michigan, the Board of Education of Glen Lake Community Schools, Leelanau County, Michigan will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 2018-2019 budget.
