Grawn man faces drug charges


BERMUDEZ BERMUDEZ A 28-year-old Grawn man was arraigned Tuesday on two separate drug charges — each with a possible sentence of 20 years in prison.

Joshua Bermudez of 5151 Mobile Trail W., Apt. A, pleaded not guilty during his Circuit Court arraignment on identical charges of delivery/manufacture of cocaine, heroin or other controlled substances, less than 50 grams.

According to the felony complaint Bermudez sold one-quarter gram of heroin for $60 on Sept. 27, 2017, and two weeks later sold five methodone pills for $50 to an undercover officer.

Both transactions allegedly took place in Elmwood Township.

Delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

Consecutive sentences may be imposed for other felony convictions, according to state statute.
