NATIONAL PARK SERVICE UP COMING EVENTS

THURSDAY

10 a.m. — Yoga on the Beach with Amy Hubbell at Glen Haven beach, $10 suggested donation.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Path to Pen, a guided writing tour of Port Oneida with interpretive artist Nancy McKay and botanist Elise DeBuysser. Reservations required through Historic Sleeping Bear.

FRIDAY

1-1:30 p.m. — Dune Discovery presentation of how Sleeping Bear was formed and the geologic stories hidden in the sand at the Dune Climb Pavilion, Glen Arbor.

SATURDAY

8 a.m. — Port Oneida Heritage Run featuring a Kids Schoolhouse Dash, Tiller’s 10-K Run, Homesteader’s Hardcore Hilly 5K run/walk and Farmer’s Flat and Fast 5K.

SUNDAY

10 a.m. to noon — Paddle the Platte, an easy four-mile paddle down the lower Platte River to discover the wonders of wetland.

2-3 p.m. — Glen Haven Stroll through the once bustling historic village to uncover its stories.

8 p.m. — Manitou Music Festival: Oh Brother, Big Sister perform on the Studio Stage at Lake Street Studios, Glen Arbor.

WEDNESDAY

11 a.m. to noon — Guided Auto Tours, in individual cars or car pool, between Port Oneida and the historic structures of the Platte River area including the Ken-Tuck-U-Inn.

8 p.m. — Manitou Music Festival: The Tannahill Weavers perform on the Leelanau School Lawn, Glen Arbor.
