NATIONAL PARK SERVICE UP COMING EVENTS

THURSDAY

9:15 a.m. — Port Oneida Bike Tour on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail to experience what it was like to drop in on neighbors in the historic district. Start at the Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center/ Olsen Farm.

FRIDAY

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Path to Pen: Hike around farms, forests and fields of Port Oneida. Interpretive artists Nancy McKay and botanist Elise DeBuysser provide a guided writing tour. Meet at Olsen Farm, Glen Arbor. Reservations required through Historic Sleeping Bear.

6 p.m. — Volunteer Recognition Evening for Historic Sleeping Bear and National Park Service volunteers at the Empire Town Hall.

SATURDAY

9 a.m. — Dune Dash. a 4-mile run/ walk on Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, starting at the Dune Climb, Glen Arbor.

8 p.m. — Musical Program with Jeff Brown as he plays favorites from the 60s and 70s at the Platte River Campground Amphitheater.

SUNDAY

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Ken-Tuck-U-Inn open house/tour.

11 a.m. — Women of Port Oneida impromptu barn talks at the Olsen Farm, Glen Arbor.

1:45-4 p.m. — Port Oneida Bike Tour (repeat).

4:30 p.m. — Weekly guided horse and wagon tours of Port Oneida with Historic Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor. Reservation only, minimum of 8. Call 231-334-6103. 6 p.m. tours also available.

MONDAY

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Path to Pen writing tour (repeat).

10 a.m. — Yoga on the Beach with Amy Hubbell at Glen Haven beach, $10 suggested donation.

11 a.m. — Women of Port Oneida impromptu barn talks at the Olsen Farm, Glen Arbor

11 a.m. — Women of Port Oneida (repeat).
