Empire plans music; goodbye to Mike

This was a tough week, with the loss of a friend who was a very large part of everything Glen Arbor. H Michael Buhler passed away suddenly this week and will be missed.

It is really hard to follow such an announcement. However on Sunday the Dunges perform from 4-6 p.m. at the Empire Museum. Admission is free but donations benefit the Empire area community emergency fund.

The latest winner of the Empire Lions Club Lucky 13 drawing for $100 was Paula Figura. Per Lion Dick Figura, who said he had nothing to do with it. However, Paula won last year, also. Just say’n.

There will be concerts in Empire Friday through Sunday courtesy of Lively Lands, a boutique festival. On Friday there will be a VIP dinner and preview concert at the Empire Town Hall; on Saturday the concert will be at 12777 S. Benzonia Trail (Co. Rd. 677) Empire and on Sunday there will be a bluegrass brunch at the Empire Town Hall. For more information go to the Lively Lands website.

I think the Glen Arbor Arts Center members show is still going on at the Glen Arbor Arts Center in Lake Street, see some real talent.

Many of our visitors have gone back to reality, but many are still here. A lot of visitors with older kids have left, but the visitors that have younger primarily under school age children are still here. They are the ones to be careful of. In traffic, they are quick and unpredictable. Drive carefully.
