Bird expert at Omena

Steve Holmer, vice president of policy for the American Bird Conservancy will be a special guest Saturday at Saving Birds Thru Habitat’s annual fundraiser.

Holmer has more than 25 years of experience working to conserve endangered wildlife. He first worked with The Wilderness Society and then as a campaign coordinator of American Lands Alliance where his efforts were dedicated to serving habitat for the Northern Spotted Own and Marbled Murrelet.

Holmer directs the Bird Conservation Alliance, a network of more than 200 conservation groups that builds congressional support for bird conservation programs,

Saving Birds Thru Habitat is a member of the Bird Conservation Alliance.

The event will be at the Saving Birds facility, 5020 N. Putnam Rd. It’s scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Included are wine, hearty hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.

Tickets are $25 per person.
