Strawberry pie for national day

Strawberries may be out of season but this strawberry cream pie from Chimoski Bakery will never be. This pie might sound familiar as Chimoski Bakery was on TV 29 & 8 Friday September 28 to celebrate National Strawberry Cream Pie day. This recipe provided by Tina Baker of Chimoski Bakery is a scrumptious crowd pleaser. Chimoski Bakery is opened 7 days a week and is located in Suttons Bay.

Strawberry Pie

Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup mashed strawberries
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup sliced strawberries
10 full sheets of graham crackers
1/3 cup sugar
6 Tbls. melted butter

Directions: Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla and cream until smooth. Fold in 3/4 cup mashed bananas. In another bowl, beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until they form stiff peaks. Mix graham crackers, 1/3 cup sugar and melted butter in food processor and then pat into place in pan. Pour creamed cheese mixture into graham cracker crust and top with sliced strawberries.
