You live in Leelanau County because: “I live in Leelanau because I spent all my summers up here and it’s a paradise. It’s a feeling unlike any others. I spend my winters in Florida, but I come back and experience joy.”

Last good movie you saw: “RBG, a movie about Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”

Last good book you read: “Mutant Message Down Under. It’s about reconnecting with the earth and trying to realize how we are affecting it.”

If you could trade places with one person for a day, who would that be? “Alicia Glass. I always wanted to play volleyball professionally. I would also switch places with Yo-Yo Ma. He is a great cellist.”

Things important to you that you have accomplished so far: “Being a mother of a wonderful son, helping my husband in a business and being involved with Fishtown. I’m also happy to be a person who cares about others.”

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years: “Playing the cello, living a healthy life and contributing to the community in a meaningful way.”

Things you lose sleep over: “I lose sleep over people that live with hatred in their hearts.”

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County, it would be: “Affordable housing for people who work and serve the community.”

Favorite dessert: “Chocolate.”

Are you a coffee drinker? “Yes, probably four or five cups a day.”

Favorite place in Leelanau County: “My favorite place is my family’s cottage on Glen Lake.”

If you have more time you would: “I have lots of time because I’m retired, but I guess I would do more of what I am doing now, and that is fishing, spending time with family and enjoying music. I would also want to travel.
