History, art to mix tomorrow at the Glen Arbor Art Center

History lends perspective. That’s what Glen Arbor painter Harvey Gordon will discuss tomorrow at noon during his presentation of “The Art of Painting: A Radical Perspective” at the Glen Arbor Art Center.

The hour-long program will delve into the history of art of painting, from the caves of Europe to the present. Gordon will also explore the art itself, as well as external conditions that may have been an influence.

First ‘holiday’ make, take set for Saturday

Put on your creativity cap and make something special for Christmas. Adults and teens can learn how to create hand-built ornaments Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Arts Center.

The “Hand-built Holiday Ornaments Workshop” is designed for beginner and intermediate level artists, so it’s easy enough for the craft-cautious and fun enough for the craft-proficient.

Each participant is asked to bring scissors. All other materials will be provided.

Cost of the workshop is $25. Register online at glenarborart.org.
