Suttons Bay Village Notice

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council regular meeting of January 22, 2019.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m., by President Pro-Tem Christensen. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Case, Christensen, Egan, Newcomb, and Suppes

Absent: Lutke

Council approved Special Meeting minutes of December 20, 2018, the payment of bills and the Commission/Board Appointments as follows: Appoint Roger Suppes and re-appoint Frank Smith and Scott Straley to serve on the Planning Commission, appoint Kathy Egan to the Zoning Board of Appeals, and reappoint Donna Popke and Nick Wierzba to serve on the DDA.

Council directed staff to notify the State to proceed with the TAP project.

Council approved the budget amendments as follows: To allocate an additional $209,451.09 from the General Fund and Major Street Fund for the TAP project.

Council approved to request and support a joint DDA meeting with Elk Rapids, via video or in person, to determine a level of interest in the Ferry project and the next step of the initiative.

Council adopted Resolution 2019-01, authorizing staff to enter into a contract with KDP Retirement Plan Services.

Council directed staff to schedule a public hearing on the proposed amendment to the Marina Ordinance No. 2 of 2017.

Council requested that Amendment No. 1, prohibiting marihuana-based businesses, to the Village of Suttons Bay Zoning Ordinance No. 2 of 2018, be scheduled for a public hearing.

The meeting adjourned at 6:06 p.m.

Glen Arbor Township Master Plan

The Glen Arbor Township Board adopted the Glen Arbor Township Master Plan at the Regular Township Board Meeting held on November 27, 2018 in the Glen Arbor Town Hall Meeting Room. The Master Plan will take effect 8 days after it is published.
