Brittni Nichole Whittaker of Charlevoix and Jason Shelden Stewart of Suttons Bay have announced their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Tyvin and Kathleen Whittaker of Charlevoix. A graduate of Charlevoix High School, she attended the University of Nations in Kona, Hawaii. She is a full-time musician.

ENGAGED: BRITTNI NICHOLE WHITTAKER and JASON SHELDEN STEWARTThe future bridegroom is the son of Kristin and Warren Baumann of Suttons Bay, and Harry and Sherree Stewart of Fontana, Calif. A graduate of Suttons Bay High School, he holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan with a major in anthropology and a minor in classical archeaology and science and technology studies. He plans to graduate in the spring with a master’s degree in human-computer interaction at U-M, where he is presently a student instructor.

The couple is planning a wedding on Dec. 21 in Mexico, with a reception to follow in Michigan the following May.
