Green builder claims a dozen Parade of Homes awards

One of the area’s first “green” builders has garnered nine first-place awards and three runner-up awards for five Energy Star-certified houses open during this week’s Parade of Homes, sponsored by the Homes Builders Association of Grand Traverse (HBAGTA).

Pathway Homes, of 13919 S. West Bay Shore Drive, in Elmwood Township, received first place for one or more of its homes in categories of judges’ choice, craftsmanship, interior design, exterior design, kitchen and master suite.

The spec and custom home builder also received runner-up in judges’ choice, master suite and kitchen categories.

“Our goal at Pathway Homes has always been and always will be to provide our clients with a home that is energy efficient, well designed and affordable, but with a touch of luxury,” said CEO Gary Jurkovich.

Since its inception in 2007, Pathway has won 20 other builder awards and was one of six Michigan builders to receive a State-awarded DTE Energy grant. Jurkovich and Pathway were featured recently in Michigan Builder Magazine and will be featured on the Savvy Home Buyer TV show later this summer.
