Isaac N. Hagen

1916-2009
A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church of Northport for Isaac “Ike” Norman Hagen of Northport who died June 29 at Tendercare of Leelanau. He was 93.
He was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Northport, the son of Annie Laura (Garthe) and John Hagen. On Oct. 10, 1937, in Suttons Bay, he married Thelma E. Bahle who preceded him in death on May 22, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Northport, he was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he held a variety of positions on the church council. He worked for Leelanau Memorial Hospital for many years and operated an engraving business from home. He also served on the Leelanau Township Board as a clerk for more than 22 years. For more than 59 years, he was a ham radio operator with the Amateur Radio Relay League.
He is survived by his daughters, Realpha H. Kutilek, Lita H. Goess and Carine Hagen; two siblings, Esther Yeates, and Grant Hagen; four grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Joan Monroe, Frederick Hagen, James Hagen, Lita Oltman and Franklin Hagen; and a granddaughter in 1967.
Burial was to be in Leelanau Township Cemetery. The family is being served by the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Michigan, 900 E. Front St., Traverse City, MI 49686.
