Norma L. Hegwood
1922-2010
A memorial will be held in the summer of 2011 at Glen Lake for longtime seasonal Leelanau County resident Norma Lee Hegwood who died at her home in Tucson, Ariz., on Dec. 11. She was 88.
She was born on April 12, 1922, in Medaryville, Ind., the daughter of Hiram Lee Firebaugh and Vera Mae Firebaugh. In 1941, she married Manuel Hegwood who preceded her in death in 1983.
Her family has summered on Glen Lake since 1954.
She is survived by her son, Jack Hegwood of Clinton Township; daughter, Bonnie Gonzales of Tucson, Ariz.; and two granddaughters.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Alice Lashbrook and John (Jack) Firebaugh.
