Editor’s note: Artists from across the country come to Leelanau County to capture its beauty, which seems to peak with fall colors. Artists and artisan groups have planned a full slate of activities this fall, including three that will occur on the same weekend. Fall Finale Art & Wine Walk

Window shoppers be warned: you’ll want to
walk inside the stores of Suttons Bay to experi- ence this event.
Wander from 5-8 p.m. into the locally-owned businesses lining main street in Suttons Bay to experience an event that both art lovers and wine connoisseurs can’t resist.
“It’s a great community event that has always been very well represented,” said Karen Pontius, president of the Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the annual event.
“The walk is also great for people who have never been in the area before, as it showcases what are local artists, wineries and business owners have to offer.”
Participating merchants in the 12th annual event will each feature the works of one artist,

with about half of the locations also presenting spirits from local wineries.
There is no cost to participate. Shoppers are given guides for merchants to stamp as they stroll from store to store, viewing work from local artisans, sample local fare & refreshments
from area wineries.
At the end of the evening, leave your guide
with one of the merchants and it will be entered into a drawing to win one of two $200 “village shopping sprees” comprised of gift cards for downtown stores.
