leelanau color tour 2018
Both soccer and football elds have lights in Suttons Bay. And just as you might expect, soccer players believe their sports has the edge for competitiveness and entertainment.
While the Leland soccer program doesn’t play under the lights, it’s enjoyed the most success in recent years.
“Soccer is best in the fall because it is the perfect weather,” Owen Kareck said. “Everyone is ready to play after a long break from sports.”
His goals are high.
“I hope we win it all this year,” Kareck said. “We have a great team this year, and I don’t see us not winning the state champion-
ship.”
Fall colors and soccer
seem to go together.
“I believe soccer is better
in the fall because the weather is perfect for an endurance sport such as soc- cer,” said Logan Cooper, a junior on the Glen Lake team. “Unlike the spring weason, we have no game cancellations because
of the weather.”
