Leelanau Wine,
While wine blazed the trail and so much more for locally created beverages,
today it’s joined by beer, cider
and spirits all produced by local
craftsmen and women. The bounty for all those
delicious drinks comes from
the elds and hills of Leelanau County, which is known for its hops, apples and other alcohol- enhancers as well as grapes. Just try a Cherry Bounce from Northern Distillery or Cherry Whiskey from Grand Traverse Distillery for proof — literally.
But wine remains the
top attraction for county visitors, and for good reason. Leelanau’s vintners annually bring home dozens and dozens of awards, proof that they are, indeed, rst class.
Following is a list of wineries, distilleries and brewers from the county.
