To the editor:
I have served as District 5 Leelanau County Commissioner for 14 months now and I am continuously disheartened by public comment at county meetings and letters to the editor from county residents who do not check their facts before sharing their views. Please, do your homework. Please reach out directly to the person you have an issue with. Please talk to others in the community who might be able to shed some facts on the issue. Check for a variety of diverse sources and look for creditable information you trust. Read carefully. If those measures still leave you with questions, please make public comment or write your letter.
So much mis-information and false information is being used to discredit people who try to serve the common good. Me included. My commissioner email and cell phone number are on the county website.
