Holy Week in scripture

To the editor: In the season of Lent, Christians reflect on Christ’s earthly ministry and look forward to the yearly observation of Holy Week starting with Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday’s institution of The Lord’s Supper, Good Friday’s sober reflection of Christ’s Crucifixion and death, culminating in the great joy prepared for all of God’s Creation’s on Easter Morning in Christ Jesus’ triumphant Resurrection. The Bible testifies the truth with Matthew 27:1, Mark 15:2, Luke 23:3 all recording Jesus’ response to Pilate’s interrogation during His trial, “It is as you say.” With John 18:37 expanding Christ’s testimony, “I am, as you say, a king.

To the editor:

In the season of Lent, Christians reflect on Christ’s earthly ministry and look forward to the yearly observation of Holy Week starting with Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday’s institution of The Lord’s Supper, Good Friday’s sober reflection of Christ’s Crucifixion and death, culminating in the great joy prepared for all of God’s Creation’s on Easter Morning in Christ Jesus’ triumphant Resurrection.

For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

Exodus 20:16 records the 8th Commandment: “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” And Leviticus 5:1 instructs all to testify truthfully outlining consequences of not doing so: “When a person sins because he did not speak up, even though he was an eyewitness to a case or knew what happened, and he had even heard a curse pronounced against anyone who failed to testify, he is guilty.”

Truthfully respect our Constitution and laws and those who enforce them for as Christ taught in Mark 8:36, “After all, what good is it for a man to gain the whole world and yet forfeit his soul?”
