Reproductive health

To the editor:

Voters need to know that Republicans intend to undermine all aspects of women’s reproductive rights, all of which a majority of Americans strongly approve. For example, the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) decision by the Alabama Supreme Court making embryos created through the IVF process “Persons”, landed like a lead balloon. In an IPSOS poll, 2/3 of voters questioned said they were against the Alabama Supreme Court’s ruling. GOP officials, all originally backing the Alabama ruling, fled from their positions like lemmings once voters’ disapproval hit the headlines. Most Americans approve of IVF because it supports families by addressing infertility. Next up- contraception. On July, 21, 2022, one-hundred and ninety five Republican House Representatives, including MI Rep. Jack Bergman, voted against the Contraception Act federally protecting access to contraception. Let the magnitude of that vote sit with you awhile.
