Debate needed for free society

I hope everyone knows its not only okay to debate on all topics, but it is a necessity for a free society. This comes into question for me more-andmore everyday because it seems that you can’t criticize a public or private person or entities actions without some aggressive personalized attack or attempt of silencing with no substance regarding an argument itself.

I call this a “tell,” a poker-tell to know something is wrong.

Without debate, then be prepared to serve your elected or unelected bureaucrats with no accountability. And for whoever has control at that particular moment in time, good for you, but hopefully the shoe never finds itself on another foot.

When did debating go out of style? Why did we ever stop letting the best ideas and policies rise to the top through rigorous debate?

I think its because of a softness that has perpetuated our culture brought on by our leaders and technocrats that only care about their self interests and not those that they serve.

Some of my best friendships and relationships have happened through debate, and nowadays you simply bring up a controversial idea or topic and every gets all tense and scared to explore the possibility.

Heck, we are having a presidential election this year, and there hasn’t even been an agreement to debate. And I mean can you blame them?

Biden, who can’t utter a coherent sentence without embarrassment, and Trump, who says so many catch phrases that at the same time he says nothing at all.

Of course they don’t want to debate because neither option actually wants to serve the American people, instead their own red and blue parties.

Without this debate culture, a third-party, independent candidate in Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is gaining steam simply because he has the gull to debate. This provides an interesting threat to the embarrassment that is now the two-party electoral system (Republican/Democrat).

You can not improve your status in life without debating.

So why not, let’s compete, and let the best ideas win.

Without debate and free speech, we don’t have much.
