Debra Kay Heiney, of Maple City, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Debra was born on April 25, 1968 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Arthur Kurtz and Treva Rudd.

Debra Kay Heiney, of Maple City, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

Debra was born on April 25, 1968 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Arthur Kurtz and Treva Rudd.

On June 27, 2021 she married the love of her life, Glenn Heiney.

Debra worked at MC Short Stop for many years. She loved working there and loved putting a smile on everyone’s face. She really made an impact in someone’s day while she was working. She was the Heart of MC.

Some of her most favorite things to do were to go camping, especially at Hartwick Pines with her husband and family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and cheering them on. She was their #1 fan.

Debra is survived by her husband, Glenn Heiney, her children, Sharon (Joshua) Plamondon, Dale (Shana) Penny, Brian Heiney and Ben Heiney. Grandchildren, Henry, Gregory, Lilyana, Layla. Siblings, Michelle Kurtz Pittman, Arthur Rudd, Quint Kurtz, Chad Lippoldt, Nate Lippoldt, Doug Lippoldt, Jerl Lippoldt, sister-in-law, Sandy Harlan, brother-in-law, Bill Heiney, Stepfather Frank Kopekto.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Catherine Rudd and brother, Kurt Lippoldt, father-in-law, Glenn Heiney, Sr., mother-in-law, Dorothy Kopekto.

Friends are welcome to visit with Debra’s family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684.

A Funeral Service honoring Debra will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Township Cemetery.
